After two years of Mamis de Málaga being present on Facebook, we have decided to open this blog as another window of communication with all of you … yes, I know that usually the process is the other way around: first you start a blog with the intention of building after a community on Facebook and other Social Media profiles as Twitter, Instagram or any others, but … this is us, we have our own way!
Now we are ready for the next step, we want to expand our community and the idea of starting a blog is the best way to reach this achievement. Expanding our community is only one of the many projects we have in our minds and our hearts. We are going to go one by one, but don’t worry, we will keep you updated; We’d love to taste every step we take, to deeply enjoy it and make sure we will be able to share it with you, you are very welcome to accompany us because, of course, without you it doesn´t make any sense.
If you haven´t hear from Mamis de Málaga before let me explain you about us a little bit. Our objective is to create a platform to introduce the Malaga for families from a wide point of view, to every mum, no matter where you are coming from, showing a general vision about the different things the province can offer to us. We want to share with other mums everything, from information about places where to find particular services (schools, shops or pharmacies), until nice spaces for leisure or culture to enjoy together with the children. And… who better than one Mamis de Málaga to tell you about it, don’t you think so?
I think it’s time now to introduce ourselves to you, so you can know us a little bit better:
Ok, I will be the first, my name is María Jesús, I am journalist since I have memories, my passion has always been to tell stories (although I find myself more comfortable telling stories from others than my own ones) I am mother of two children who teach me every day another way of seeing and narrating the life.
Now I pass the witness to my mates to introduce themselves:
Hello! It’s my turn: My name is Susana, I am publicist and graphic designer by vocation. Mother of two kids that got me crazy in love. I consider myself a creative and open-minded person, skills that I believe have been boost by the 7 years I have been living in London.
I am Irene, the new arrival. I am a publicist and founding member of WORLDPIN S.L. With our own patent called Iberpin. A staunch defender of the collaborations and synergies between entrepreneurs, which has led me to join this group of Mamis de Málaga. My daughters are my engine to keep growing and developing professionally.
Ok, witness back to me!
First, let me tell you how we found ourselves on this project, and how, without any pretention, it becomes the perfect tandem to our professional life. At the end of the day, we are communicators and by coincidences of life we end up giving birth our third child, and we call it “Mamity Comunicación” a local communication agency that offers services of web design, event organization, graphic design…
Well, promise I am going to stop hanging around, and focus on what I want to say!
Like many other things, Mamis de Málaga was born accidentally. It was a test page that Susana made with the intention of practising the subject we learned in a Community Manager course we attended together, and by luck (or lack of knowledge) the Facebook page it was publish and the following day we found out that it was having 100 followers!
Oh, my god! Imagine our surprise, without any sharing, or quality content, or anything at all, almost 100 people decided to give a Like to a page only because the name Mamis de Málaga was having a meaning for them, or a feeling that they could Find a response to their interests … Suddenly we felt that we had to continue in that way, we could not defraud those people who had trusted us, so without a clear objective but with a lot of desire and enthusiasm we maintained and fed the Facebook group, and after a little while we added Twitter.
Our small virtual community keep growing, and our team is growing too!
Recently we assist to the first Familiar party, that was organized by “Madres Enredadas”, and Susana and Irene, that studied together at the University, met again after so many years without seeing each other! On another hand, I could finally personally meet Irene from Iberpin, profile I had had so many interactions with through Mamis de Málaga profile, but never met personally, even I didn´t know her face!
From the beginning, we were having very good chemistry between us, and after several meetings we decided to join and work together in both Mamity Comunicación and Mamis de Málaga, for us, two parts of the same project: our most professional side and our most familiar side. How to choose between our two children?
To finish this presenting, we cannot forget to give our thanks to all those people that are following us for almost two years and giving likes to Mamis de Málaga. Thanks to them we jump on this adventure, without any lifeguards, that is making us growing as professionals, mothers and individuals.
Do you fancy to join our journey?
If you like our story don’t forget to share it!
