Summer Camps “Nutty Science”
Hello Mamis de Málaga, summer is back and our children Holidays are just around the corner, so it is conciliation time! Summer camps seem like a very good option, because our kids will have the possibility to play and have fun with other children, and, in addition, they can always learn something.
We need to find an option that suits their tastes and make our life’s easier at the same time, we are on Holidays and everybody must be happy 🙂 !
We have plenty of possibilities but we must consider several aspects: proximity or easy access, thematic and activities, facilities, languages, dining service, educational purpose, schedules and of course, the price!
After researching a little bit and analysing all these variables we must choose the best option for our family. We have done our own market study and we have taken a decision, which personally we love!
Nutty Scientists’ Summer Camp!
Last Friday we went to visit Planeta Explora facilities, to personally know their methodology of Fun Science, and we were invited to attend a session that they were giving to a group of children of 4 years old.
It was a lot of fun, we found amazing the way they catch the kids’ attention, even our own, with a language adapted to their age that made them literally stuck to their seats, perhaps also because of the invisible glue they had used to stick their bottoms to their seats, it was like a funny performance, very interactive, where everybody was doing and answering scientific questions. You’d have to see them in their robes, with their glasses on, microscopes, magnifying glasses … they looked like real scientists!
Then we had a chance to chat for a while with Germán Bernal, the director, whom Irene had known for a couple of years. Germán told us their educational project and how they organize and plan the camps, science can be fun, but the safety and welfare of children is something that, in Planeta Explora, is taken very seriously, they are endorse by 25 years of experience.
Think S.T.E.A.M. We teach in the form or shows or workshops related to science, incorporating aspects or technology, engineering, art and mathematics (STEAM)
Nutty scientists’ summer camps start from a carefully studied didactic planning elaborated under a comprehension script for each of the days, so there is no place for improvisation, to focus on the intellectual and physical security of its participants. And they teach scientific culture in an adapted and funny way that will have the consequence of arousing the interest and motivation of the children in this field.
Nutty Scientists® methodology is all about a hands-on approach, encouraging participation and engaging children as they’re being educated. Not only do children develop a love for science, they develop critical self-esteem at a young age.
Nutty Scientists is not just another camp, it has an added value which it is promoting the importance of science, leading children to think why things happens, motivating them to question the facts of life and looking for the answers, all in the best way that science can be understand in a “NUTTY WAY”
