Museums for children in Málaga
We are at the White Week half way, and our children have already rested from the school routine, so it may be time to introduce activities that enrich them and offer them other visions of the world. Malaga has a great offer of museums, it is even known as the ‘City of Museums’ so why not to take advantage of this magnificent opportunity and visit some of them with the children?
Here is our Museum Route for children!
Museums, kids, fun … Putting these three words together in one sentence it may sound strange, indeed, I would have been very shocked a few years ago, before being a mother. I used to think that museums were not suitable places to go with the kids, either because they would get bored or because they weren’t having activities intended for them and their behaviour would annoy the other visitors, how wrong I was!
One of the favourites hobbies of my children is spending a Sunday afternoon between instruments and musical objects, marine species or cars of different times. Yes, yes … we can find these themes in some of the showrooms that we have in Malaga. But we cannot forget the tastes, hobbies and the age of our children when planning the visiting.
In Málaga, we can enjoy many museums ideal for children as the Principia Science Centre, the Interactive Museum of Music (MIMMA), the Automobility Museum, the Alborania-Aula del Mar, and of course, the famous Picasso, Carmen Thyssen, Pompidou, Russian…
As you can see the list is very long, and still it could be much longer. Today I am going to focus on the first four, for you to have an idea about what you can find on them (we will talk about the others some when later, in another post).
It is the perfect museum for children, it brings the scientific and technological dissemination in an entertaining and interactive way. The little ones enjoy playing and experiencing themselves with the various proposals of the centre. It has two rooms divided by themes, a planetarium and an astronomical observatory that will delight the kids.

From those four proposals from Mamis de Málaga my little ones have visited the Museum Alborania and the MIMMA, and more than once, imagine how much they did enjoy that they don’t stop asking me to come back! The Automobile Museum and the Principia Science Centre are a must go in our list of pending activities, I’ll tell you in more detail when finally, we can get to go.
And you… Do you like to go to museums with your children? For sure there are some of them that we have missed. If you know another special one just tell us! And we will add it to our list.
