5 plans for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is approaching, a very special day that touches my heart and brings lots of memories to my mind. Adam, my eldest son, was born almost 11 years ago, a May 7th that also fell on Sunday, yes, yes, he was born on Mother’s Day! That day, I literally knew what it was feeling as mother like, from the pains of childbirth to the highest happiness and the purest love that it has ever existed. A few seconds and a last push that took me to one of the two happiest moments of my life; The other, could not be otherwise, was the birth of my daughter Paula

So, I can say, my son will be 11 years old on my twelfth Mother’s Day. Let’s celebrate it and look for the best plan for this special day!

From Mamis de Málaga we bring you the following proposals:

SBreastfeeding cinema session (sesión TetAndaluza)

This initiative from “Ocio para Niños & Asociación de Mujeres Ícara” has as a final target that it is to achieve breastfeeding cinema session in all Andalusia’s provinces on a regular basis to provide a leisure alternative to families with breastfeeding babies.

The next appointment in Malaga will take place at the cinemas Rosaleda and La Cañada next May 7th, coinciding with Mother’s Day.

So, if you have nursing babies, this plan seems ideal for you to enjoy our great day!

Muelle UNO, boat trip and Pompidou museum

Every time we like to wander around Málaga’s Muelle UNO, so we propose it as … our fourth plan for Mother’s Day!

First, we can take a walk on the Pier, enjoying the views, boats, parks, children’s activities and the atmosphere. After we can have something to it in any of the many options of restaurants, for all the pockets, hamburgers, tapas, pescaito, pizzeria, parrillada argentina …

After we suggest taking a boat ride, with family affordable prices, when we took the boat they charge us only the adult’s tickets, so we ended up paying around € 20 with an included drink (I remember) for three adults and three children. The boat tour was spectacular, we left the port and saw from the sea the bay of Malaga. The sea breeze, the swaying of the waves and children’s laughter are a must live sensations in person.

After enjoying this environment, we can take advantage of where we are and visiting the Pompidou Museum, which, like the rest of museums in Malaga, on Sundays from 4 pm is free admission. Next Sunday, May 7th, we will be able to attend the exhibition-workshop ¡Vaya Circo! A playful and creative activity designed for children aged between 5 and 12 years old, and their families, to know and experience with Calder universe in a “very” interactive and funny way.

Picnic en familia

And finally, we propose the one we consider the best bet, a family picnic! I cannot think of a better option to enjoy Mother’s Day in a quiet, familiar and economic way.

Imagine the typical plaid blanket, some Spanish omelettes, cheese and bread sticks, carrot and cucumber fingers with hummus, potatoes chips, olives, a glass of wine and another glass of juice … And toasting and enjoying the sun, the outdoors and the company!

Where to do it? There are endless possibilities: the countryside, the mounts of Malaga, the parks … Although if I must recommend one, I have it clear, I’ll see you at La Paloma park!
